RB/A helped The Museum of Contemporary Craft relocate from its historic neighborhood location to Portland’s North Park Blocks. The new museum contains two floors of exhibition spaces that open to the park through generous windows. Attention was given to controlling natural light and providing balance with artificial lighting. Also present are a light filled sales gallery, flexible events lab, and multi-media space. Curatorial and administrative facilities are located on the upper level. We worked closely with the Museum staff and Forsgren Design Studio to craft a flexible display environment that will take this nationally-known institution well into its next 70 years.
